On March 11th, 2025, during the ELNE WEBINAR WEEK, a representative of Connect participated as a panelist in the seminar “From the Digitalisation of Education to Education-led Digitalisation: a Collaborative Approach,” organised by OBESSU, EPA, and ETUCE.
They presented Connect’s research on the topic, highlighting the need to prompt critical thinking for safely navigating the digital environment and Connect’s best practices when it comes to digital literacy in formal and non-formal education.
During the event, stakeholders (including formal and non-formal educational actors, students, and members of third-sector organisations) underlined the role that digitalisation plays in transforming the education environment and its double function as enabler and threat.
As a result, in the context of the Council of Europe European Year of Digital Citizenship Education, the webinar touched upon the role of educational actors, highlighting the need for a standardised and comprehensive framework at the national and international level, establishing guidelines for digital education that ensure learners’ empowerment in becoming digital citizens.
In a period of time where digitalisation seems to be on an unstoppable trajectory transforming any aspects of our lives, integrating digital infrastructures in formal and non-formal educational environments is key for the future flourishing of young people.
