At the OBESSU Study Session: “ENABLE – Inclusive Education for All!”, Connect International took part as a quest in one of the sessions as a representative of Advisory Council on Youth, emphasizing the profound impact artificial intelligence has on young people’s education, employment, and digital rights. As AI technologies continue to shape the future, it is essential to safeguard youth rights.
During the session, we explored the challenges and responsibilities that come with AI transformations, particularly in the areas of education and the labour market. With 95% of young people using the internet daily, yet one in six having poor overall digital skills, the need for strong AI literacy and digital rights protections. Connect International advocates for the importance of including youth perspectives in AI policies. Especially in the context of principles outlined in the recently adopted Framework Convention on Artificial Intelligence and Human Rights, Democracy, and the Rule of Law.
As an international network working on brining humanity to the digital life, Connect International remains committed to building a fair, inclusive, and youth-friendly digital future. AI must not be a tool that widens the digital divide, but one that empowers young people to shape their own futures.
