On 14th May 2024 in Brussels, Connect International participated in the panel discussing Virtual Internships for Inclusive Societies. Junior Achievement Europe with their partners and support of the Erasmus+ program, created a dynamic initiative aimed at improving access to internship programs for young people, particularly those facing fewer opportunities, within formal and non-formal education across Serbia, North Macedonia, Spain, and Italy.
At the VI4IS EU event General Manager of Connect International spoke on the panel discussion, with the other panellists: Marko Paunovic from Out of the Box
International, Veronica Arduino from Lifelong Learning Platform, Elena Grabul from Regional Cooperation Council and Bojan Kordalov, from IDUEP/ECE Belgium.
At the event the panellists exchanged insights and perspectives on virtual internships and youth engagement, as well as to discuss policy implications and recommendations for improving access to internship for young people across Europe.
The General Manager of Connect International highlighted that the General Assembly declared 2024 the year of inclusive digital participation. She shared results of the extensive research done as part of E-volunteering project initiative and some concrete recommendation made. Connect is fighting for better condition and quality of online internships as well as any other virtual engagement of young people. Connect International will continue to address this issues and work on the policies and recommendations ensuring that rights of young people are equally respected in virtual world.
We are happy to be a part of this discussion and we will keep advocating for the digital youth rights as we support that there needs to be improvement in the field of virtual internships.
