Representative Connect was a part of EuroPCom 2024

Representative of Connect had the chance to attend the European Public Communication Conference (EuroPCom), the Europe’s annual gathering of public communication experts, jointly organized by the EU institutions.

The event reached more than three hundred people, interested as us in facing the challenges of communication in today’s crowded information space, and therefore aiming at gathering strategies for effectively amplifying messages using data-driven approaches, innovative tools, and targeted messaging to build trust and engage diverse audiences.

The policies suggested also concerned AI-driven tools, which are tranforming public communication: in this regard, the speakers highlighted the benefit of automated and generative tools, as well as the challenges and ethical considerations, in the end offering practical insights on integrating these technologies to increase efficiency, personalisation and outreach to citizens.

Many cities are starting to test AI concepts and exploring AI use-cases across urban sectors, from improving public transport to public safety, healthcare services and city governance. In this regard, CoR members and other local and regional leaders also discussed how cities and regions can use AI to address major challenges while ensuring they are responsive to citizens’ needs and respect their fundamental rights.

Keeping humanity in the digital world, ethical concerns on the use of AI systems and the implementation of digital literacy among communities are three key priorities of Connect: therefore, we are glad that we could assimilate the insights they proposed in the conference.
