On February 13, Backslash organized the online training “Digital Volunteering: Strategies to Multiply Youth Impact” as part of the European project E-volunteering, in which Backslash is part of the consortium.
This training brought together youth professionals from across Spain and beyond, offering a unique opportunity to explore the reality of digital volunteering both in Spain and Europe. Participants engaged with resources developed within the project, aimed at fostering a more sustainable ecosystem for e-volunteering.
During the two-hour session, attendees had the chance to explore the E-volunteering virtual platform, designed for managing and working with digital volunteers. The platform received highly positive feedback for its user-friendly design and practicality, consolidating all essential tools for digital volunteering in one place.
The main objective of the session was to test the curriculum developed for youth professionals and organizations interested in implementing digital volunteering practices. Through interactive activities, debates, roleplays, and collaborative brainstorming, participants delved into key curriculum topics. Given the limited time, a virtual Engage room was also set up on the Digital YOu platform, granting participants access to valuable resources for an entire week.
The session proved to be highly successful. At the beginning, many participants had little knowledge of digital volunteering, yet by the end, most felt confident enough to engage in and even implement online volunteering initiatives within their organizations. The content, resources, and dynamic format of the training were all praised for their engaging and interactive approach.
Overall, the training was a resounding success—not only in its execution but also in its impact. By introducing digital volunteering to professionals across different regions (and even beyond Spain), the session helped create multiplier agents who will further promote and expand e-volunteering opportunities.
