Call for Participants – UpDatAed

Almost all activities that involve young people nowdays have a virtual and online dimensions. That also applies to the youth work that civil society organizations are performing in order to promote the rights of the youth. Participants and activists of their activities should feel safe and free in the space that youth organizations are offering to them. In order to provide that feeling we should focus more on protecting their rights and among them their data and privacy. But, how are youth organizations doing this today? How are they ensuring that they are following new regulations in field of online data protection for safety of their participants and activists?

In order to answer these questions, a Seminar for standardisation within the “UpDatAed” project will be organized in Thessaloniki, Greece. This event will be a gathering point for stakeholders to talk about human rights, safety and privacy in youth work. Our participants will also get a chance to discuss challenges of youth work when it comes to protecting young people’s safety and privacy and ensuring their rights protection while doing youth work activities.

DEADLINE FOR APPLICATION: 18.04.2019

FINANCE AND TRAVEL INFO: Organizers will cover all costs related to seminar materials, lecturers, trainers, accommodation and food. Participants are advised to use the most cost-efficient means of travel. Organizers will cover travel costs in accordance with CONNECT International’s decision on travel expenses reimbursement depending on country of origin.
