CONNECT INTERNATIONAL – HOW TO BECOME AND EXPERT
Who are the members of the POT?
The POT members have specific set of skills to plan, prepare, run and evaluate educational activities within conflict transformation, able to use online facilitation and educational tools, and non-formal education. They can be in different roles as:
- Members of Educational Teams / Training Teams that prepare, implement and evaluate educational youth activities, as trainers and facilitators;
- General Reporters or editors for reports about the activities of Connect International;
- Experts providing input and expertise for the above-mentioned activities;
MANDATE, COMPOSITION AND THE COORDINATION
POT coordinators and members are selected with decision made from Governing Board of Connect International on the base of their application form submitted within the fixed deadline. Their mandate lasts 2 years and it is renewable. The number of POT places are up to 15 where at least 20% should be senior trainers. This is essential because of sustainability and learning inside the POT.
The coordination of the POT is given to two appointed trainers and one person selected by the Governing Board. In case of no applications for the position of POT coordinators, the Governing Board can appoint two POT members to take the coordination of the POT.
MEMBERS
The POT consists of Trainers (seniors and juniors). The POT members have competences in dealing with conflicts online and specific set of skills to plan, prepare, run and evaluate or coordinate and support activities within non-formal education context. Trainers in POT are divided in Senior and Junior trainers’ positions according to their experience in the field of Conflicts and Non-Formal Education.
Senior trainers
Senior trainers are trainers with significant experience and advanced knowledge in the field of Non-Formal Education, Conflicts and Online tools by having worked as trainer in at least four (4) international activities consisted of at least 3 training days. Preferences will be given in addition to the above-mentioned criteria to trainers who followed a qualitative training for trainers.
They are expected to follow the general responsibilities are listed below:
- To promote the mission and aims of Connect International;
- To develop/prepare program of activity together with other trainers and the coordinator of the activity;
- To respect deadlines for planning, preparing, implementation and evaluation of activity;
- Send report within 1 month after the activity to POT Coordinators and person responsible for 96 the project
- To be open for sharing experience, knowledge and tools with their colleagues;
- To take care of safety of participants and their colleagues during the activities;
- To support the learning experience of Junior Trainers by providing guidance and advices before, during and after the activities;
Junior trainers
Junior trainers are trainers with a basic experience and knowledge in the field of Conflicts, online tools and Non-Formal Education having worked as trainer in at least one (1) international activity consisted of at least 3 training days.
They are expected to follow the general responsibilities are listed below:
- To promote the mission and aims of Connect International;
- To develop/prepare program of activity together with other trainers and the coordinator of the activity;
- To respect deadlines for planning, preparing, implementation and evaluation of activity;
- Send report within 1 month after the activity to POT Coordinators and person responsible for the project;
- To be open for sharing experience, knowledge and tools with their colleagues;
- To take care of safety of participants and their colleagues during the activities;
- To put effort and be committed to their self-development as trainers in order to ensure increasingly quality in POT activities;
External Trainers
An external trainer is exclusively senior trainer coming from the organisation non-members of the Connect International with the same references as for other senior trainers. The maximum number of external trainers for the Connect POT could not exceed the 30% percent of the total number of trainers.
Selection criteria
Criteria used for the selection is following:
- Self-evaluation and competences (30%)
- Case Study 30%
- Statement 20%
- Performance in planning and delivering NFE activity 20%
