The COVID19 pandemic has forced almost all young people to abruptly digitalize their lives and transfer them online. Now social interactions, communication, work and education are happening in a virtual space. This sudden change has provoked serious consequences that have put Human Rights at risk. We believe that the endangerment of human rights in the online space can only be prevented and countered among young people through education – Human rights Education (HRE).
That is why during 2022 CONNECT International will be working on a project “Educ@te”, which is aimed at promoting online human rights education for young people through online non-formal education. The objectives of this project are to map existing needs of HRE educators working on transferring their sessions online; to gather HRE educators and together with them develop online e-learning modules for HRE and to engage youth workers and youth organizations in applying online HRE.
The project “Educ@te” is supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.
