Young people and representatives of youth organisations throughout Europe, we are excited to invite you to our upcoming Digital Citizenship training, which will be taking place in Serbia from June 11 to 16, 2023!
Citizens’ assemblies, protests, and elections are just a few examples of citizen participation that you’ve probably already heard of. But have you ever thought about using technology to amplify your voice and impact? We are sure you’ve already considered it, and perhaps even done it without realising it’s part of Digital Citizenship!
In our everyday lives, we use the term “Digital Citizenship” to refer to the responsible use of technology and online safety, but it encompasses much more than just that. Digital Citizenship also entails seeking out new opportunities, connecting with others, and making your voice heard, and by taking ownership of your digital life, you can have a positive impact on your community and beyond! With digital participation, you can do almost everything that you can do in-person, but also reach beyond the borders of your town or country! You can use technology to make a real difference, whether it’s creating content, advocating for causes you care about, or developing innovative solutions to challenges that you face.
About the training
We will bring together 24 young people and representatives from youth organisations in June to delve deeper into this topic by exploring innovative forms of digital participation and how technology can help our voices be heard even more and education around it be more impactful. We will be discussing Digital Citizenship opportunities and challenges over the course of five days, as well as learning about developing advocacy campaigns and translating ideas into policy proposals. By the end of the training, we hope to have developed policy positions on the subject and made a plan for the advocacy campaign around them!
So, why wait? Apply now and join us for our Digital Citizenship and Participation training, where we’ll discuss how to use technology to make a positive impact on the world!
Who can apply for participation?
We invite you to apply for participation if you are a young person or a representative of a youth organisation who is interested in or already working on this topic and is between the ages of 18 and 30.
