CONNECT International network representative attended the 50th meeting of the Advisory Council on Youth and the 49th meeting of the Joint Council of Youth, which was held in Europen Youth Center Strasbourg between 23 and 25 October 2023.
The Advisory Council on Youth (CCJ) is the non-governmental partner in the co-management structure, which establishes the standards and work priorities of the Council of Europe’s youth sector and makes recommendations for future priorities, programmes and budgets. In other words, it is the voice of young people in the Council of Europe, and CI is very proud that we are a part of that story.
During the meeting, several relevant topics were addressed and discussed, and the success of the campaign Democracy Here, Democracy Now! was celebrated. It also addresses the importance of the participation of young people in the democratic debate, especially in the digital space. In that spirit, there was a Thematic debate on young people’s access to rights.
For CI, it is important to be a part of the bodies that support the voices of young people in the decision-making processes, and we are looking forward to the next meeting in 2024.
