The capacity-building training within the project “Hiking4Understanding – Empowering intergenerational understanding through educational hiking activities” was successfully implemented on Mountain Tara near Bajina Bašta in Western Serbia from May 31 to June 4, 2024. Within it, the participants from partner countries learned how to effectively put to use the newly developed #H4U methodology created for utilizing hiking as a tool for inciting intergenerational understanding and dialogue, together with learning about the importance of environmental protection and health benefits of hiking as a sport.
The project Hiking4Understanding is co-funded by the European Union and implemented by a consortium of organizations from Serbia (Camping Association of Serbia and Mountaineering Club Strazilovo), North Macedonia (NGO EcoLogic), and Belgium (CONNECT International) with an aim to empower intergenerational dialogue and understanding in Europe through innovative H4U educational hiking programs addressing environmental protection and inclusion.
