This week, a representative from Connect International attended the webinar presenting the updated publication Guidelines on the Ethical Use of Artificial Intelligence and Data in Teaching and Learning for Educators. The discussion explored how teachers and schools can adopt AI in a responsible and rights-based way, the opportunities and challenges brought by the rapid rise of generative AI since 2022, and the implications of the European AI Act (2024) alongside the GDPR for educational settings across the EU.

The guidelines will be available in all EU languages by early June, together with a publication on how to integrate media literacy in primary and secondary schools – two resources we will be following closely, as both align directly with Connect International’s work.
