A representative of the CONNECT recently took part in a consultative meeting organised by the Youth Sector of the Council of Europe, held at the European Youth Centre in Budapest.

The meeting was part of a reflection process launched in 2025, focusing on how to better support international non-governmental youth organisations in strengthening democratic governance, organisational development, and their overall effectiveness in working with young people.

Discussions addressed key challenges faced by international youth organisations, including organisational management, democratic decision-making, strategic development, advocacy, and cooperation with European institutions. Participants also contributed ideas for future support mechanisms, such as capacity-building initiatives, mentoring schemes, and educational tools. In addition, proposals were discussed for a structured training curriculum to be implemented from 2026 onwards.

CONNECT values its participation in these consultative processes, which contribute to stronger international youth cooperation and support the promotion of democracy and human rights across Europe.
