The DIGIT-AI preparatory team met in Strasbourg to shape a study session exploring AI, young people’s realities, digital youth work, AI literacy, ethics and responsible technology use.
Preparing the learning journey for “DIGIT-AI: Implementing Digital Youth Work in a Constantly Developing Context”, 27–28 August 2026 | European Youth Centre Strasbourg
The preparatory team of the study session “DIGIT-AI: Implementing Digital Youth Work in a Constantly Developing Context” met on 27–28 August 2026 at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg to shape the educational approach and prepare the study session taking place in November 2026.
The study session is being organised by the Connect International AISBL and Curiosité Centre de Formation (CCF) in cooperation with the Council of Europe Youth Department.
The two-day preparatory meeting brought together members of the preparation team and the Council of Europe Youth Department representatives to develop a shared understanding of the study session’s vision, educational objectives and expected impact.
The meeting focused on the key question: How can youth work support young people in navigating an increasingly AI-driven and digital environment — while ensuring that technology is approached critically, ethically and in line with human rights and democratic values?
A central part of the meeting was dedicated to moving from broad themes to a coherent educational journey. The preparation team explored how participants can progress from understanding young people’s realities with AI, through developing technical and ethical AI literacy, towards examining the role of youth work and identifying practical approaches for the responsible use of AI in youth work settings.
The preparatory meeting resulted in a clear framework for the next stage of preparation, including the development of the draft programme, participant recruitment and selection, expert contributions, communication activities and the practical organisation of the study session.
The team will continue working together in the coming months to finalise the programme and ensure that the November study session provides a meaningful space for learning, experimentation, critical reflection and peer exchange.
The study session will take place on: 16–20 November 2026 at the European Youth Centre Strasbourg.
It will bring together 20 youth workers, youth leaders, trainers and other youth work practitioners from the Council of Europe member states to explore the changing relationship between Artificial Intelligence, digital youth work and young people’s lives.
