From 8 to 10 July 2026, Skopje hosted the Training of Trainers on AI Literacy for Adult Education, the first phase of the project “Initiating Adult Learning Programmes on AI.” The training was implemented by Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society (North Macedonia), Connect International (Belgium) and Curiosité Centre de formation (France), and co funded by the European Union through Erasmus+, KA220-ADU – Cooperation Partnerships in Adult Education.

Over three days at Hotel Solun, participants worked through the AI Literacy Curriculum and Toolkit developed within the project. Day one covered foundations: an AI literacy self-map, a competence compass, common misconceptions and a personal AI audit. Day two moved into practice, with hands-on activities from the toolkit and three practice sessions where participants delivered AI literacy activities to their peers. Day three focused on turning the training into action, with participants designing their own AI literacy sessions and outlining follow-up plans.

The training combined presentations, group work and peer learning, giving adult education providers and trainers practical tools for introducing AI themes into their own programmes, grounded in responsible, ethical and human rights based approaches to AI.

Participants will now pilot elements of the curriculum and toolkit in their own professional contexts. Their experiences will feed into the second phase of the programme, a Consolidation Course taking place in France in December 2026.
