NART launches a project “COPING WITH CHALLANGING BEHAVIOUR IN YOUTH WORK”

With strategic collaboration from six organizations – CENTAR ZA MLADINSKI AKTIVIZAM CMA KRIK (North Macedonia), COPENHAGEN YOUTH NETWORK (Denmark), ASD CYB SPORT YOGA DANZA E BENESSERE (Italy), REGIONALNE CENTRUM WOLONTARIATU (Poland), and MONIKOM-TREJD (North Macedonia) – the project addresses one of the pressing challenges in the youth field: supporting young people with challenging behaviour.

The project’s main objective has been to equip youth workers with practical, adaptable tools to promote emotional resilience, stress management, and inclusion among marginalized young people. The cornerstone of this approach is a newly developed digital tool, offering interactive storytelling combined with body-mind relaxation techniques such as yoga, breathing exercises, and mindfulness.

This tool is designed with two user paths:

  • Solo Adventure: young people independently explore and reconstruct their personal narratives.
  • 1-on-1 Journey and Group Sessions: guided by trained youth workers who facilitate deeper, supported reflection and emotional growth.

Crucially, the tool is accessible in six languages – English, Bulgarian, Italian, Macedonian, Danish, and Polish – making it widely usable across diverse populations.

  • By merging storytelling with bodymind practices, the project encourages young people to:
  • Reframe traumatic experiences
  • Strengthen self-esteem
  • Manage intense emotions like anger, anxiety, and sadness
  • Cultivate trust and self-nurturing behaviors

The tool also provides distinct access levels for youth and youth workers, ensuring both groups engage meaningfully with content tailored to their roles and needs.
