Project overview

BE CONNECTED in 2025 strengthened CONNECT International’s work on digital rights, youth participation and digital innovation across its European network. The programme produced practical digital resources and policy recommendations, supported institutional dialogue and expanded the reach of CONNECT’s work with young people and youth organisations.

Throughout 2025, CONNECT International worked with its member organisations across Europe to create practical digital tools, learning resources and policy recommendations for young people and youth workers. During the year, the project developed practical resources including an e-volunteering function on the DigitalYOu platform, the EU4YOUTH2ACT e-Academy and mobile app, and new policy recommendations on AI, digital literacy, online mental-health support and e-volunteering. It also organised a policy conference attended by more than 200 participants, held nearly 40 meetings with institutional stakeholders and reached approximately 1.3 million people through its main communication campaigns.

Project Results

Research and pilot activities supported the development of mental health and digital safety tools, including VR based resources and e learning curricula. Two sets of policy recommendations addressed AI and fundamental rights for young people and compassion based digital youth work.

Digital platforms, training modules and awareness campaigns supported youth civic engagement and e volunteering. New policy recommendations on e volunteering were promoted through a hybrid policy conference with 230 participants.

Inclusive tools and methodologies were developed for intergenerational understanding, accessible sports education and creative youth work. CONNECT also designated 2025 as its Year of Digital Inclusion.

Activities explored the integration of AI and other emerging technologies into education and youth work, resulting in competency frameworks, curricula, ethical guidance and policy recommendations.

Two online training events strengthened member organisations' skills in project evaluation and in designing impact and communication strategies for EU applications.

Advocacy work advanced youth related digital policy through engagement in European institutional processes and decentralised activities in eight focus countries, creating new partnerships and supporting the integration of recommendations into national policies.

Thematic communication campaigns reached more than 1.3 million people across Europe and raised awareness of digital inclusion and youth participation.
