BeAusome
Description for general use
BeAusome is a European cooperation project aiming to enhance the professional development of teachers working with children on the autism spectrum and to strengthen the involvement and collaboration of parents, educators and specialists. The project explores the integration of emerging technologies (including virtual reality) and digital pedagogies to create more inclusive learning environments and to support the social and cognitive skills development of children with autism.
It emphasises teamwork among teachers, parents and children, supporting consistent learning environments across home and school.
Objectives

To promote teachers’ professional development in teaching children with autism through training, digital tools and inclusive methodologies.

To increase the active involvement of parents and guardians in the learning process of children with autism, fostering partnerships between families, schools and specialists.

To integrate innovative technologies (such as virtual reality environments) and digital pedagogies into inclusive educational practices for children with autism.

To facilitate cross-cultural exchange of ideas, best practices and inclusive methodologies across partner countries, enhancing the quality of support for children with autism in diverse educational settings.

Key Activities / Outputs

A professional development programme and training modules for teachers, combining digital pedagogies, inclusive methodologies and the use of emerging technologies (such as VR) for children with autism.

A “Dual Pack” toolkit (for teachers & parents) that supports inclusive practices, collaborative learning at home and at school, and integration of digital tools.

Development of a virtual reality game/application designed to support the development of social and cognitive skills among children with autism, in an engaging and safe environment.

Production of a practical “Tool Kit & School Action Plan” to help implement inclusive and technology-enabled practices in schools and partner organisations.

Dissemination and exchange events (national and transnational) to share the project’s results, best practices and to support replication by other organisations.
