Project overview
DESERve equips grassroots sport clubs and youth organisations with knowledge, methods and practical tools to strengthen emotional competences, prevent violence and create safer and more inclusive sporting environments.
DESERve uses sport as an educational environment for strengthening emotional competences and preventing violence among children and young people. The project responds to violent, aggressive and exclusionary behaviours by improving the capacities of grassroots sport clubs, youth organisations and professionals working directly with young people.
Its approach combines emotional intelligence, non formal education and sport practice to create safer and more supportive environments. Particular attention is given to young people with fewer opportunities and to strengthening cooperation between the sport, youth work and mental health sectors.
