Description for general use
The EmpowerHER project set out to inspire and support young girls aged 16 to 21 by tackling the gender imbalance in entrepreneurship through dynamic, engaging, and inclusive learning opportunities offered during non-academic periods, such as summer breaks. The project is implemented under Erasmus+ Progamme, KA220- YOU – Cooperation partnerships in youth. With a strong focus on inclusion, the project reached out to marginalized groups, ensuring that all young women—regardless of background—could access high-quality education and training to develop, launch, and sustain their own business ideas. At its heart, EmpowerHER aimed to cultivate entrepreneurial and cross skills that not only promoted active citizenship and confidence among young girls but also strengthened the capacity of youth workers through innovative tools and methodologies. By integrating digital storytelling, mentoring, and the latest technologies into youth work, the project created a vibrant learning ecosystem where creativity, self-expression, and leadership were nurtured. A central element of the project was the creation of the Digital Storytelling Mapping Tool. This platform showcased inspiring practices in youth entrepreneurship with a particular focus on female-led initiatives. It also featured twelve compelling video-podcasts in which successful women entrepreneurs shared their journeys, challenges, and the personal qualities that helped them succeed. These stories were produced in five languages, ensuring accessibility and wide-reaching impact. All of this material was compiled into the EmpowerHER Portrait e-Booklet, a practical and motivational guide for young aspiring entrepreneurs, combining key traits, practical tips, and cross-country comparisons. Innovative learning tools were also developed to deepen entrepreneurial understanding. These included a multimedia glossary of key business terms in video format, as well as an interactive Virtual Reality game, paired with real-life business scenarios to enhance problem-solving skills. A set of structured entrepreneurship activities—offered both online and offline—enabled young people to actively engage with essential competencies in a hands-on, accessible way. To ensure sustainability and real-world impact, each participating country hosted workshops to train youth workers, reaching a minimum of 75 professionals across the partnership. These sessions empowered youth workers to guide and support young girls in their entrepreneurial journeys. The learning culminated in five national summer bootcamps where young girls participated in 75 hours of training and workshops, gaining practical skills and competing in national entrepreneurship challenges designed to spark ambition and innovation.
