The main goal of the GreenIT project was to promote environmental sustainability among youth organizations by integrating green organizational management practices with the use of digital tools. The project is implemented under Erasmus+ Programme, KA210-YOU – Small-scale partnerships in youth and it aimed to empower NGOs across Europe to adopt innovative, environmentally friendly, and sustainable approaches in their day-to-day work, ensuring that digital transformation goes hand in hand with ecological responsibility. One of the key achievements of the project was the development and dissemination of the Green Organizational Management Handbook, available in English, Croatian, and Serbian. The handbook provided youth organizations with practical strategies and actionable steps for adopting sustainable practices in their operations. To further support implementation, the project also developed ten ready-to-use templates, tailored to the needs of youth NGOs, enabling them to easily incorporate green practices into their internal processes. Another major milestone was the creation of the GreenIT Platform, which served as a central resource hub. Designed in English and translated into Croatian and Serbian, the platform was tested by 27 youth organizations—exceeding the initial goal of 21. The long-term impact of the project was secured through the adoption of the project’s outputs by the Executive Board of CONNECT International. Furthermore, during the General Assembly of CONNECT International held on November 7, 2024, the adoption of the Green Organizational Management recommendations and materials was formalized. This decision made the use of GreenIT tools and principles mandatory for all 34 full member organizations and 18 stakeholder organizations across Europe that are part of the CONNECT International network.

Green Organizational Management Handbook
A comprehensive handbook was developed to support youth organizations in adopting Green Organizational Management practices. Available in English, Croatian, and Serbian, the handbook offers practical guidelines on reducing waste, conserving energy, and utilizing various IT tools to implement sustainable practices within youth organizations.

Ten ready-to-use templates were created to assist youth organizations in applying Green Organizational Management principles effectively. These templates cover different sustainability areas, helping organizations set measurable goals, monitor implementation, and assess progress in an organized and structured way.

GreenIT Online Platform
An online platform was launched at www.greenit-project.eu, acting as a central hub for youth organizations seeking guidance and resources on sustainable organizational practices. The platform was piloted with 27 NGOs, and their feedback was incorporated to improve the tool’s functionality and usability.
