The ReTurning Digital project consortium has completed the testing and evaluation of advanced digital tools for adult education. The activity was carried out in Serbia, Slovenia, and North Macedonia, with the participation of ten adult education professionals.

Tools were tested in real educational settings and evaluated against criteria of usability, adaptability, scalability, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with adult education goals. Eight tool categories were assessed: ChatGPT, Research Rabbit, InVideo, and Diffit AI in the field of artificial intelligence, alongside Moodle, Canva, Asana, and SurveyMonkey as broader digital platforms with advanced AI, analytical and other features and functionalities.

The evaluation confirmed that all tools hold significant potential, but none can replace the pedagogical role of the educator. Tools like ChatGPT and Canva stood out for their ease of use, while Moodle and Asana were recognized as powerful but more demanding platforms. AI tools, particularly Diffit AI and Research Rabbit, were valued for supporting personalized and inquiry-based learning, with an emphasis on the need for critical and guided use.

The findings will feed directly into the next project phase – the creation of a curated repository of digital tools for adult education on the Turning Digital platform.
