What if every young person, no matter their ability, could shape the future of culture?
|
| We’re thrilled to announce the launch of our initiative, co-funded by the European Union, that empowers young people with intellectual disabilities to actively participate in the worlds of film, arts, and culture, not only as performers but also as engaged, valued audience members.
This project is about more than inclusion. It’s about innovation, visibility, and transformation. By bridging emerging technologies with the creative expressions of young artists, we aim to reshape how the cultural and creative industries (CCI) see participation, access, and talent. Our Goals
Promote Inclusion: Reduce marginalization and foster meaningful involvement of young people with intellectual disabilities and disadvantaged backgrounds in the CCI.
Advance Digitalization: Harness emerging technologies to match the needs, skills, and preferences of young creators, opening new pathways for creative participation.

| Kick-Off Meeting
On January 13th & 14th, 2025, the project’s virtual Kick-Off Meeting brought all partners together. It was a great opportunity to get to know one another, present each organization, and discuss project goals, deliverables, and next steps. |
| Launch Days
In May 2025, partners in Cyprus, Greece, Spain, Italy, and Poland organized Launch Days to present the Artistic Minds project and engage the public. These events attracted over 250participants and aimed to build awareness and support for the inclusion of young people with intellectual disabilities in the cultural and creative sectors.
The gatherings brought together professionals from the arts, education, social innovation, NGOs, and CCS/CCIS fields, highlighting the challenges faced by disadvantaged young artists. As a result, more than 250 Memoranda of Collaboration were signed, demonstrating strong support and helping to create new employment opportunities while fostering inclusive growth in the cultural industry.

| E-Mapping Tool
The Artistic Minds team is developing innovative digital tools to support the digital transformation of cultural spaces. One of the major outcomes is an e-mapping tool, now available on the Artistic Minds website. This platform helps users explore existing policies, methodologies, and creative digital resources supporting the mental health and expression of young people with intellectual disabilities.

| Study Visit
From June 3rd to 5th, 2025, ARTIT hosted a dynamic three-day study visit in Athens, Greece. The focus was on promoting inclusion, accessibility, and sustainability within the Cultural and Creative Sectors.
Partners explored national programs that support young artists with intellectual disabilities and well-being, and carried out peer reviews to identify needs and gaps. The visit combined hands-on activities, cultural exchange, and insightful discussions, highlighting the importance of inclusive artistic practices.
The visit also promoted a co-design methodology, enabling cross-border collaboration and meaningful knowledge-sharing.
|
| Focus Groups
To further develop strong networks, partners organized a series of 10 focus groups and interactive workshops, attracting around 100 professionals working with young people with ID and another 100 CCS experts. These sessions helped build vital partnerships with stakeholders who are committed to the project’s mission. |
| National Policy & Practices Reports Two newly published cross-national reports offer valuable insight into how six countries (Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, Poland, and Spain) are addressing inclusion, digitalization, access, and mental health in the cultural sector. These reports highlight promising strategies and growing commitments to a more inclusive and accessible cultural environment across Europe.
